2011 Mini John Cooper Works

Highlights

  • Fantastic colour combination
  • Documented service history
  • Great condition, inside and out
  • Images taken in light rain

THE BACKGROUND

The Modern Mini was introduced to the world in the year 2000 by its new owners BMW. Replacing the ‘original’ Rover Group owned classic Mini, this redesigned, refreshed car was an immediate success in both the UK and Europe with unit sales regularly exceeding 100,000 per year.

This 2011 registered 3 door hatchback is the 2nd generation of the modern version and is the most capable and performance focused varitant, the Mini John Cooper Works edition.

THE HISTORY

First registered in June 2011, this JCW Mini spent its first few years in and around the Birmingham area while its 2nd ownership was towards the Norfolk region. It currently resides in the English Riviera, Torbay.

Covering only 56,000 miles in its 11 years, the car has been owned by 3 individuals, the current since 2019, all of which have kept the vehicle in immaculate condition.

THE PAPERWORK

Included with the vehicle you’ll find a manufacturer's original backpack, including manual and service portfolio. 8 service stamps are present, with the latest being February 2022.

In addition, current V5c, MOT certificates, some service invoices and another invoice for Brembo discs and pads purchased in 2019 are present.

THE EXTERIOR

Finished in Eclipse Grey and equipped with black JCW 17’’ alloys, this car is a very smart looking, hot hatch. Black roof, with panoramic glass, black wing mirrors and black arches add to the car's appeal.

While there was some light rain which may be seen in the bodywork images, the condition all round seemed to be immaculate, paint, trims and alloys are all in fine order. At the time this was Mini’s best, this car's appearance certainly lives up to that title.

THE INTERIOR

Black leather seats paired with the JCW black dials and styling are a perfect pairing. The interior on this vehicle is great, all seats are unmarked, the rears look barely used.

It's a sporty, retro influenced interior, subtle and quality, finished in a colour suiting to the exterior. A small sign of wear on the driver's floor mat was the only sign of its age, otherwise immaculate.

THE MECHANICS

Powered by a 1.6L turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol engine, this pocket rocket produces over 200bhp, it's pokey, fun to drive and emits a lovely noise out the rear JCW exhaust, with a few pops and crackles too.

The car was driven to the shoot location, started up on several occasions and manoeuvred many times without issue, it may be 11 years old, but that’s nothing nowadays for a car especially with good regular servicing. The last 4 services were carried out by a performance orientated garage, and no doubt kept the cars running gear in tip-top order.

THE APPEAL

This is a hot hatch that looks just as good as it performs. The combination of grey and black really makes this car even more appealing, it’s one of those cars that will look good on anyone's drive.

It’s in excellent condition inside and out and thanks to its great mechanical history and low mileage it will no doubt continue to put a smile on its owners face for thousands and thousands of miles.
