The Appeal

For the W204-generation C63, Mercedes and AMG chose to properly re-engineer the car, rather than merely bolt on go-faster stuff. Alongside the grunty 6.2L 457bhp M156 V8 and 7spd AMG Speedshift auto, the car crucially got the front suspension set up from the CLK63 AMG Black, so giving it the skill in the corners to match the pace on the straights.

It is the sort of car that it seems unlikely Mercedes will build again, which is why we really like this 2013 example. It has covered less than 21,000 miles from new and is in great condition, finished as it is in rare optional Fire Opal Red with Black Nappa leather inside. It features desirable options like the COMAND sound system and Panoramic roof. You’ll struggle to find signs of use, even to high traffic areas like the driver’s seat.

Much of the condition is a testament to the car’s long term current keeper, who bought it in 2016. He is a qualified mechanic with evidently high standards and soon after purchase he was unhappy with some of the paint finish. This resulted in a full bare metal respray under warranty and in the original colour. Throughout his ownership the car has been kept in a garage within a Carcoon-style air chamber.

The car is said to have been serviced regularly, initially by Mercedes and then by the current keeper because he is qualified to do so. The MOT history supports the low mileage and the current test runs to February 2027 with no advisories.

The vendor says:

“The car start-up is the best sound ever, the V8 roars into life. Such a fast, fun car to drive and very comfortable on a long journey. Very fun in Manual mode using the gearbox shifting on the steering wheel.”

“Purchased the car in 12/2016 with 12500 miles on it, has only been used occasionally in the dryer time of year. I always let it run to warm up the engine to stop excessive wear. Oil has been changed by Mercedes and myself being a qualified mechanic. I only use Mobil 1 quality oil.

Mercedes warranty covered this, and the car had a full bare metal respray by an authorised paint shop. The paint is in fantastic condition now and looks like new.

“The interior is finished in black Nappa leather and is unmarked with the original AMG floor mats.”
