The Appeal
The Alpina B5 Edition 50 extracted the very best from the F10 generation, a limited run of just 50 cars built to mark Alpina's half-century of refining BMW's finest. With 600 hp from its uprated 4.4-litre V8 Bi-Turbo, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust, a Drexler limited-slip differential, and a top speed of 204 mph, it was the most powerful car Alpina had produced at the time of its launch. Now that the Alpina name has been absorbed into the BMW Group, numbered limited editions such as this carry ever-greater significance.
This car is believed to be one of just three right-hand drive Edition 50s, finished in Alpina Blau II Metallic over extended Champagne Merino Nappa leather with "Edition 50" commemorative branding and Burkard Bovensiepen's signature on the dashboard. Imported from Japan, it benefits from the preservation that Japanese-market cars are known for. The vendor states that the car drives and feels as though it were new throughout. It comes with BMW service history and has recently been serviced by a BMW specialist. Updated UK mapping and infotainment, along with fresh Pirelli BMW Star Approved tyres all round, mean it is described as ready for immediate enjoyment or a place in a serious collection.image.png1.13 MB
