Car never previously offered for sale.
Purchased on his retirement in March 1999 from Western Automobile Company in Edinburgh the gentleman contacted me in autumn of last year to offer me the car. We knew one another and he knew I was a Mercedes enthusiast and club member. He was regrettably unwell but wanted to see the car to go to a good home. The car was his pride and joy but as he grew older he was unable to give it the care and attention it deserved. I promised to bring the car back up to scratch. A promise I fulfilled with meticulous care and attention to detail to bring the car back to the condition it is in today. It really is stunning and must be seen to be appreciated.

Undoubtedly one of the nicest R129's in the country in a wonderful colour combination.
I cannot justify keeping the car because I have another similar SL which I have owned for 9 years.

I have every invoice and piece of documentation relating to the car from new including original purchase receipt. I even have a hardback Mercedes SL sales book from 1999 which will go with the car. Two spare keys, all books/ wallet etc. Early years serviced by MB then subsequently by two independent local garages. Serviced on schedule as it should be with a fully stamped service booklet. 13 services in total.
Car has enjoyed good regular use covering an average of just under 3, 000 miles/ year. It has not been sitting in a garage unused for any length of time.
Car comprehensively serviced recently (MB parts/ all invoices).
Brand new Dunlop MO tyres fitted this week.
New spark plugs (x12 on the M112 V6 engine)
