Opel Ascona B 16v Turbo.
New project forces the sale of a totally unique car with an unbelievable spec sheet. Car is rot free in all areas, chassis swan necks, cills, crossmembers and jacking points which are all the problem areas in these cars. The underside has been undersealed from new and the original paint is still there underneath. I am the third owner from new and the specs are as follows:- Fully rebuilt z20ler engine with an uprated turbo core unit. Engine runs on Megasquirt ms2 v3 management system and is mapped for around 240bhp, car weighs prob 1200kg max so call it an easy 200bhp per ton? A very, very quick car! Omega gearbox with quickshift operation with hydraulic clutch conversion. Brand new bespoke propshaft. Fully rebuilt rear axle with new pinion shaft, crown wheel and bearings.
Polybushed propshaft mount and centre bearing doughnut. Polybushed front wishbones. Front vented disc conversion. Rear disc brake conversion. Bilstein fast road suspension all round with Spax springs. Interior fan has been uprated and is good for modern day operation. Full chicago grey interior from a Manta gte. Japan Racing alloy wheels with Toyo T1-R tyres, sticks to the road like glue. The car has cost in excess of 20k to build and is perfectly capable of being a daily driver, I use it regularly and it gets attention everywhere! Car presents well but would be perfect with a good flat and polish. There are some small paint blisters on the rear arch also but not a major issue. Car has mot until the end of February and is ready for the show season.
