Unfortunately my much loved, well used and very rare SM1500 (registered WMF 322) is up for sale as I have lost my workshop storage & I don’t have the space. It is of course Tax & MOT exempt. The car had a complete restoration in the early 1990’s, with some further work done by myself in 2010 and with regular attention since. As you would expect given the above, it is showing a nice patina, but would now benefit from a little TLC. It has a later Hunter central gear change rather than the original column change. The restoration was featured in an article in Practical Classics in August 1998 and also in an article in the ASCO magazine in April 2014. It has 4 new tyres, recently had new wheel cylinders & flexible brake hoses all round together with a new master cylinder, so brakes are now as good as they get. It has also just had a complete new clutch assembly & release bearing. The chassis is rock solid and bodywork generally good, but now some small areas of rust are showing which need some attention, especially along the door bottoms. Front bench seat has some splits/ rips that had been repaired, but I preferred to keep it original rather than have a new cover fitted. Starts & runs well and is used regularly. A few boxes of spares are also available with the car. Price is £3, 950 o. n. o., which I believe is a bargain for this type of vehicle. Viewing is recommended.
