Description
The Singer Junior was introduced at the Motor Show in 1926. Possibly as many as 35-40, 000 were produced over a production span lasting until 1932. The car was improved and developed almost beyond recognition over that period and it was the popularity of the Junior that briefly enabled Singer to become the UK’s number three in production terms behind Morris and Austin.
This Singer Junior was originally registered on the 1st December 1932 in Shrewsbury, it is well travelled as it did spend some time in New Zealand before more recently spending some time in Hampshire.
The engine starts and runs well, it has good oil pressure and no frost damage. It is fitted with a new 6V battery and the dynamo has been fully rebuilt.
The drivetrain is in good order with no nasty noises, all gears select correctly and the clutch as you would expect. It handles and drives well, with good tyres all round.
The body is very original and very much an oily rag car. It has a great look about it, with lovely patina and charm. If you like this type of condition you will love it.
The interior has been retrimmed at some point, and very much in keeping with the cars condition.
We do have a history file including the current V5, the car has been rewired and just needs a couple of finishing touches such as wiring the head lights and horn. The Singer is perfect for someone looking for a little car to tinker with.
