This stunning Jaguar 340 has been with its last owner in Muswell Hill, North London for the past six years. Since 2012 the Jaguar has covered just 2000 miles within London, regularly driven to and from the Chelsea area on a weekend. OYV 269F has been a good weather car, garaged for most of the year and only driven in the sunshine. We viewed and inspected the Jaguar in London and on road test to nearby Crouch End the Jaguar performed perfectly. The engine is quite simply outstanding having been rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago and the automatic gearbox was a delight with smooth changes up and down the gearbox. The automatic suited London driving and top-quality steering, ride and braking gave real confidence in what is a striking, beautiful looking car.
Since 2012 the Jaguar has been MOT tested each year but in 2016 Southern Engine Services in South East London carried out work at a cost of almost £10, 000. The engine was removed from the Jaguar, completely stripped and overhauled, new exhaust manifolds and a new down pipe were fitted, carburettors were stripped, repaired and adjusted, the water pump replaced, radiator re-conditioned, new rear axle half shaft seals fitted and new steering box track rod pins fitted. As result of the rebuilt engine and recent works, the car is in exceptional mechanical order and can be driven with absolute confidence.
OYV 269F presents superbly in a gorgeous colour combination with ‘Coombs' style arches and chrome wire wheels. The body is beautifully straight with excellent panels, lovely gaps and the paint finish is top class with a glass like finish. In order to keep the car looking in first class order, it has recently been treated to £2000 worth of detail paintwork which really gives the car a superb finish. The chrome work is bright and in lovely order, the chrome wires and tyres are excellent and the engine bay and boot compartment presents very well. The interior is of a high standard with excellent deep Red seats, high quality carpets, headlining and the woodwork has a high gloss finish. There is no doubt OYV 269F is a car finished and detailed to a high standard and the recent expenditure should make this car a very attractive purchase for anyone looking for a top class, automatic 1960's Jaguar.
