Ford Anglia – Exceptionally Original
The new Anglia 105E, was introduced in 1959. Its American-influenced space age styling included a backward slanting rear window/ sweeping nose line & new Kent 997cc engine and the car quickly became a commercial success.
At Milestones we love finding unmolested classics and we are delighted to offer this remarkably original, three owner 105e for sale – she is a survivor with a lovely story.
The Anglia was originally sold by Zeebedee and Powney (Calne) on 1st August 1967 (allocated the new ‘F’ registration) to a Mr Gattoway of Calne. He part exchanged the car three years later and because of it’s condition she was immediately purchased by head mechanic Dudley Loud. Dudley cared for the car for many years and when he decided to sell Stan Powley bought the car back to be displayed initially in his garage and, when Mr Powney retired in 1993, at the Atwell Wilson Museum.
Today the car is utterly original – right down to the working 8 track/ radio sound system. On the road the car drives extremely well drawing lots of positive comments when you park. The two-tone paint work is delightful . The interior is very original and also in very good condition - in later years Stan did invest in new carpets/ door rubbers!
The history file contains old V5’s, original handbook, hand written summary by Stan, original ‘Time for an Anglia’ sales broacher, various information from the Atwood museum and lots of Zebedee and Powney business cards from when Stan Powney displayed the car
Ford prices have rocketed in the last two years and we anticipate this lovely original Anglia to find a new custodian very quickly.
