Rare ABARTH 1000 BIALBERO RECORD MONZA "COMPASSO D'ORO"
to give its full title! Recently discovered significant racing history in 1961
with semi-works privateer driver Oddone Sigala who later went on to race
an Abarth Simca 1300 and Ferrari 250 GTO and 250 Le Mans. Oddone
raced with Remo Cattini at Monza twice in the Coppa Ascari and Coppa
Intereuropa. See the car on the famous Monza banking. Oddone then went
on to compete in various hillclimb events such as Trento-Bondone, Trieste-
Opicina and Stallavena-Boscochiesanuova etc.. This Record Monza car was restored in 1985 and since then used as a road car. A supplementary front
cooler has been fitted (this was also an official ABARTH period Factory option)
The 1000cc Bialbero engine was rebuilt 2000kms ago and has its original
"AH" block. Body in very good condition, no rust. Car was used regularly in
the summer months by the previous owner.
