Land Rover Series IIA – Simply The Best
The Land Rover was launched in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show. Initially there was a single model utilising an 80-inch wheelbase & 1. 6-litre petrol engine producing around 50bhp….. the rest is history! The vehicle was an immediate success, exported around the world and in production for the next 68 years.
Milestone Classics are proud to offer for sale an absolutely superb Land Rover SIIA (88) that is, without question, in better than new condition – they simply never left Solihull this nice in 1970. This 2. 25 litre petrol engine example was built on 20th August 1970 and was despatched on 15th September to Central Army Vehicle Depot, Hilton, Derbyshire.
The ‘Landie’ went through a body-off restoration during 2016/ 17 to an extremely high standard at a cost of nearly £15, 000. Work included a new galvanised chassis, reconditioned engine and all other mechanical components inspected/ replaced as required.
The body, canvas tilt and paintwork are all superb with excellent panel fit, new dash/ interior and she starts on the button and drives perfectly. In the history file there is the V5c, MOT history back to 2005 and a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate.
At home in the country, around town, on the beach, at the pub there is nothing like a Land Rover…they simply become part of the family. We highly recommend early viewing in order to fully appreciate the quality of the restoration.
