Introduced in 1954 the Mk III received a number of improvements including the Alpine specification 80bhp engine giving a top speed in excess of 90mph, larger intake grills and portholes in the side of the front wings. The ‘90’ proved to be an exceptional competition car with drivers such as Sterling Moss at the wheel and most notably won the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally outright.
