SUMMARY
Supplied by Coverdale, Mercedes, Torquay, this beautiful, high specification, and very attractive W202 C240 V6 has only covered a mere 21, 964 miles, probably making it one of the lowest W202 currently on offer. Also, being garage kept for the vast majority of its life, the condition of the bodywork, both on top and underneath is more comparable with that of a much younger vehicle, and there's not one single hint of any of the corrosion that can sometimes afflict Mercedes of this era.
Up to 2015, the car actually only covered around 10, 000 miles, infact some years it covered less than 100 miles per year. As I tell many of my customers, you simply can't have a car of this age, with such a low mileage, that hasn't endured at least some periods of inactivity. I fully accept this can sometimes be a concern, and as anyone who's experienced ultra low mileage vehicles will tell you, inactivity can lead to problems. However , with this vehicle, during the last three years, it was used much more frequently, although not excessively, and clocked up nearly as many miles again between 2015-2018, than it did in the previous decade. I actually see this as a positive, as any problems that may have arisen through the previous inactivity and low use, will have manifested themselves and been addressed by now. As such, the car is now driving beautifully; its smooth, quiet, swift and still has that inherent Mercedes quality feel about it; its almost like a brand new W202.
At this mileage, and being such a well kept vehicle, as you can imagine, over and above the usual detailing and cleaning work, there wasn't that much to do in terms of preparation, however to make the car as perfect as possible, all the wheels were professionally refurbished (due to minor scuffs) and all the tyres were replaced (due to age), with a full set of brand new Michelins'; a car of this quality deserves nothing less!. I also replaced the battery too, and again thought it only right to fit the best, and in went a brand new genuine Mercedes 100Ah battery.
So in summary, this is pretty much as near perfect as you'll find with a W202. It's also the extraordinarily good, super smooth M112 V6, which does make the W202 feel rather special; even at 20 years old, it still feels, and looks like the near £30, 000 vehicle it once was. Examples of this calibre don't come around too often, so if you want one of the very best W202 C-Classes out there, don't miss this one; it's a real gem, and almost like a new classic car!.
