Very rare kit car only around 100 of these were ever produced and this is the only one currently listed on ebay,
the car is built on a 1983 fiat uno engine and chassis, these kits were made in the mid to late 90's using the reliable fiat uno, the body was replaced with a lightweight fibreglass body on a space frame chassis
the car is correctly registered as an onyx firecat on the log book
registered in june 1998
this is the 1. 3 non turbo engine,
here is a little history on the onyx kit cars,
onyx sports cars ltd is a uk kit car manufacturer. They produce the onyx mongoose, a mid-engined machine made for the rover k engine from a rover metro or rover 200 series, and the onyx firefox, a two seated open sports car made using the rover k engine in front wheel drive position. The onyx firecat was introduced in 1995 and was designed by david golightly. It used fiat uno parts and was front wheel drive. It also had the option of using the fiat uno turbo engine. During its five-year production run about 100 were sold.
their first car was the 1993 onyx firefly which was based on the fiat panda since 2005 the firefly has been produced by alphax kitcars and has been reintroduced to the british and european market as the alphax firefly.
the car runs and drives but may need a little tlc to get it perfect, we believe the car has been in storage since 2004 so will need a good service before driving, the car has the odd scratch here and there from storage and just needs a general tidy up but as you can see in the pictures she looks good for her age,
the tyres on the car are like new,
also comes with the rare hard top roof but this does not have the rear screen fitted to it see picture,
we have the full log book and the original build manual and lots of other paperwork to go with the car,
you are more than welcome to come and view the car and do any checks you like we will even make you a cup of tea whilst you do so :)
we highly recommend viewing the car before purchasing due to the age and the fact that it is a hand built kit car,
due to the age of the car we are selling the car as sold as seen and spares or repair as it is an ongoing project so we would not be able to offer any warranty with it
