Becoming increasingly rare a very early original “pull handle” 1963 MGB Roadster. This particular MG ticks all the boxes. A rare model now the “pull handle” was only produced for 1963 and 64. Not only that my MG has only had Two previous owners. Both from Nottingham. The mileage is recorded at 67700 mile, believed to be correct. The history file is both large and extensive with many invoices, old mots and tax discs etc. Also to add to this the car is immaculate, the most desirable colour combination of Tartan Red with Biscuit interior and chrome wire wheels. What’s not to like ?
The history file shows the original engine has had a total comprehensive rebuild by Lenton Engineering also of Nottingham. While having a rebuild the head was rebuilt with hardened valve seats etc to run on unleaded fuel. The engine performs very well having had a recognised upgrade of the 45 DCOE side draft Weber with a stainless exhaust manifold for better flow. An oil cooler with braided hoses. Electric switched and thermostat activated Kenlowe fan as well as the original. Aluminium ribbed rocker cover. New starter, new alternator plus much more . Engine bay is very clean indeed.
The chrome wire wheels are nearly new and I have just fitted a brand new full set of matching radials of period correct size. These have done zero miles. The car not only drives well it stops well too thanks to the upgraded new cross drilled discs. This early MG drives great with the addition of factory overdrive and has the looks to be on any show ground.
The paintwork is immaculate with zero rust and no issues. The panel gap is very good . The Red paintwork has a deep lustre.
The 3 window convertible hood is brand new and perfect as is the matching half tonneau for when the hood is off. The chrome is virtually all new. Including New bumpers front and rear. New over riders. New stainless body trim. New grille. New door handles. New air intake grille. New MG mudflaps. The opening ¼ lites have been re chromed.
The interior is virtually all new.
