So why do we love these ‘last of’ Defender’s so much? It’s iconic look and built-for-purpose nature hasn’t changed since it’s initial release after the second World War, except now it has fancy bucket seats instead of foam slabs, the transmission has synchromesh on first and second on its 6-Speed manual transmission, there are coils instead of cart springs on the axles, there’s even ice-cold air-conditioning, power windows, power steering, premium sound system and central locking.
Keeping to its roots, the Defender has an all-Aluminium body for weight reduction, allowing for higher clearance without running the risk of top-heavy body roll.
It’s equipped with a torquey 2. 2 Litre Turbocharged 4-Cylinder diesel engine that produces 90 kW of power and a whopping 360 Nm of torque. Its axle ground clearance is 250mm and Land Rover claims it has a dry wading depth of 500mm.
Accompanying our vehicle are all original manuals including the owner's handbook, service and warranty booklets, both Land Rover keys and remote access Fob’s all bound within their leather wallet. With Land Rover service history and still under Factory Warranty this Defender 90 is ready to go.
