A fabulous opportunity to purchase an incredible MG Midget with just 17959 miles from new.
1969 MG Midget in Old English White.
Purchased new by a Mr C Jeal from Windmill and Lewis MG dealers in Bristol in March 1969.
Mr Jeal owned the car up until 1976 until he sadly passed away at which point the Midget had done just 16000 miles.
Ownership was transferred to his wife (Mrs Jeal, same address in log book).
Mrs Jeal did not use the car and it remained in dry storage until ownership was passed to Mrs Jeals nephew in 2001 (also registered to the same address)
The Midget underwent minor recommissioning in 2001 and was very lightly used over the next 18 years adding under 2000 miles.
The condition is very good and original with some minor blemishes to the Old English White paintwork, the underside is totally solid and has been regularly Waxioled after being Ziebarted from new, upon raising the carpets the original floor pans are as new and still showing the stamped chassis number.
The 1275 engine is an absolute delight and runs like it should, quiet smooth and running at 60psi warm.
The interior still looks amazing with the original factory carpets still all looking fresh, lovely unmarked dashboard and door cards.
The works hard top which has been on since new is in excellent condition inside with just a few marks / paint chips on the exterior. The hood is very good and the hood cover (Tonneau) is like new.
At some stage the original painted wires were changed for stainless wires and even two of the original Esso cross ply tyres are still fitted ( we will replace these upon sale due to there age)
From what we can see the paintwork is all original other than some light touch ins and blow overs on the exterior sills.
There is evidence of Waxoil in all the crevices which explain it’s remarkable solid structure.
Amongst the various paperwork is the original VE 60 log book showing Mr and Mrs Jeal as owners and a later V5 showing it being registered to there nephew.
The original bill of sale is also present along with some old MOTs.
Although now mot exempt the Midget has a current MOT which expires in November 2019
Under the bonnet it’s not going to win shows for presentation but it shouts out originality and it has been ziebarted and treated for rust prevention on the inner wings and bulk head.
We have fully recommissioned the car with full fluids front to back, refurbishment of the Dynamo , new battery, distributor and rotor arm, new plugs, HT leads, condenser and coil.
This is the best driving Midget that we have ever had.
