Porsche launched the Turbo-charged version of the 996 for the 2001 Model Year and the new Turbo engine was derived from that used in the 911 GT1 and GT3 and its predecessor the 993 Turbo, all of which featured twin-turbochargers.
Like its predecessor, the new Turbo was only available with 'all-wheel drive' and later in 2002 the X50 package was available, which boosted the engine output to an astonishing 444hp with 457 lb ft of torque across a wide section of the power band. With the X50 package, the car could accelerate from 0–62mph in under 4 seconds!
Towards the end of 996 production, the 'Turbo S' was introduced in late 2004 and it had the X50 package as standard. This example is one of just 598 Coupés produced and one of only 65 right-hand drive cars with the desirable Manual Gearbox and it boasted a top speed of 190mph.
Supplied new by the Porsche Centre in Glasgow and first registered on 1st March 2005, this rare example has only had 2 former keepers from new with the current owner having purchased the car from the Porsche Centre in Aberdeen on 20th September 2007.

The car has a full Porsche Main dealer History from new and the current owner has owned it for 12 years. During his ownership the car has been meticulously maintained and serviced exclusively by the Porsche Centre in Guildford on 6 occasions with the last main service by them in April 2017 @ 56, 416 miles and then a minor service in April this year @ 57, 350 miles. It has now covered 57, 385 genuine miles from new and is HPi clear on all registers and comes with a binder containing all invoices from new, all MOT certificates, its original Porsche leather wallet containing manuals and literature and its fully stamped Maintenance Book.
This car is absolutely stunning and superb to drive and really is a car that has become very desirable and collectible. There are a couple small scuffs on 2 of the Alloy Wheels and some tiny stone chips on the front but nothing drastic and other than these the car is beautiful!
