Description:
Up for sale is my 2005 Subaru Legacy BP5 Tuned by STI. I have owned the car for coming up to a year now, and I have
no reason to sell other than I have bought another car on a whim, and do not have the space or need to keep all of
them. The car was bought from Torque GT last year as a fresh import. If you know of Torque GT you will already
know the quality of their cars, if not then please take a look at their current stock on their website. Please also see
link for original advert of the car - details above.

I was after a standard import BP5, but when this one came up for sale I knew I had to have it, plus I had previously
already bought from Torque GT so I had no worries about the quality of the car. If you are not aware, the Tuned by
STI model has the following over a standard BP5; STI Brembo brakes all round, STI Springs on Bilstein shocks, STI Lower Arms, STI
Wheels, STI front lip, STI branded half leather half suede seats, STI Pedals (might be aftermarket?) and this one is WR Blue. The engine in this is the same as the standard BP5, which is the EJ20Y. It’s the same engine as the twin scroll Impreza of the same era I
believe but using a smaller turbo and variable timing.

I have daily driven the car since I bought it, with literally no issues what so ever in that time. It is a perfect useable
family sports estate and is a pleasure to drive. It has always been run on Shell V Power, as these engines can be
quite sensitive to octane in petrol. Torque GT fully serviced, fully undersealed, and checked the car over completely
before selling it to myself, they replaced the two rear tyres with Uniroyal Rainsport 3’s. Since then I have also
replaced the fronts with matching tyres as 4wd cars do not like having different tyres on each axle. So it has
essentially 4 nearly new tyres all round. All belts were replaced in Japan literally just before import, so
no concerns there either. I have both original keys with the car also.

The car has a few modifications, some done by myself and some from Japan, these include:
- Fujitsubu Legalis Super R Cat Back Exhaust (even though the exhaust tips are rather large, it’s a really quiet
exhaust)
- Seems to have aftermarket brake pads judging by their colour, unsure of brand
- Apexi Power Intake (still have standard airbox)
- Custom Fit Rubber Boot Mat (the carpet was like new and I did not want to ruin it)
- Aftermarket front grill (unsure of brand)
- STI Gear Knob (still have original)

The car has honestly been spot on the entire time I have owned it mechanically, if I was to be picky the only things I
would point out would be the standard Mcintosh stereo which is still in the car is not the greatest, and could really
do with updating. I currently use a FM Bluetooth transmitter in the cigarette lighter to let me play my music, as the
radio needs a frequency expander ideally. The touch screen above the stereo all works perfectly, but is still in
Japanese. I have over time learnt what each function does so it does not really bother me. It also has what looks to
be a factory fitted reverse camera which comes in handy. The wheels do have some kerbing which was there when I
got the car and I have not got round to sorting it. Again it’s only really something you would notice yourself.
The drivers window plays up if you try to use the auto up function, and just returns to half way up. It works fine if
you dont use the auto function. I have been told its the motor, so I have a brand new OEM Subaru one sat here, I just
have not had the time to fit it, as it really does not bother me much.

Please bear in mind this car is approaching 15 years old so I am not going to say the car is perfect, but it would
definitely put some much newer cars to shame in its condition. It has the odd hairline scratch on the outside, the
odd scuff on the interior, but nothing worth mentioning. You can see from the photos it still even has the blue
protective film over the door and boot plates, and part of the stereo! Whoever owned the car in Japan definitely
looked after it, as have I.

Since owning the car I have not seen another Tuned by STI for sale, Torque GT currently have another on the way
which is already reserved. It’s a great alternative to the Forester STI which are becoming fairly common now, and a
much better every day car than both the Forester & Impreza in my opionion. I can guarantee you are going to struggle
to find another like this, so if you are after a gen 4 Legacy this is the one for you!

Price - £9, 950. No car P/ X. maybe a older japanese bike with cash my way?
Location - Southend-On-Sea, Essex
