Delightful pre-war taxi, based on a Heavy 12/ 4 with body by Jones Bros, worked as a London cab pre-war, requisitioned in 1940 for the London Auxiliary Fire Service, post-war it did taxi service in Edinburgh and then student transport in Leeds before being rescued in 1973. In more recent times has done many weddings and some film work. Body seems sound and paintwork very good, interior is excellent with re-trimmed leather and newer headlining, fare table and meter, taxi signs and licensing plates are all present. Has, we understand, had in more recent times, an engine rebuild by Sutton Rebore, new clutch, wiring, dynamo and king pins. Passenger area includes bench seat and two cricket seats, landaulette roof is very good and can provide open air transport for the rear occupants. The taxi starts easily and drives well, comes with a V5C, some old MOT’s and invoices, and a few old descriptive brochures. Guaranteed to be noticed.
