This Caterham ‘Sprint’ is number 6 of the 60 limited edition cars launched at The Goodwood Revival in September 2016 when all 60 ‘Sprints’ sold out in just seven days. The 60th anniversary model is a 'Retro' look Caterham, based upon a series Seven and this example has covered just 270 miles from new. Caterham ensured these Sprints are true to the early originals with a powder-coated grey chassis and the suspension and rollover bar are also reminiscent of Colin Chapmans original. The wheels are narrow and are painted cream with polished hub caps and the interiors were all finished in hand stitched leather, with chrome bezels for the Smiths instruments.
The Sprint produces 80bhp from its race tuned, three cylinder, turbo charged engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and is huge amounts of fun to drive. Special equipment on this limited edition car includes Moto Lita steering wheel, Cream steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, stainless steel exhaust, Aux socket, heater, immobiliser, flared wings, embossed leather seats, full weather equipment, polished gear knob, headrests and Union Jack badges launched at Goodwood to celebrate 60 years of the Caterham Seven. Other factory options this car was ordered with include lowered floors, full tonneau and padded armrest doors and an anti-stone chip film was fitted by the Caterham dealership before collection.
This beautifully presented Light Green example is totally immaculate and presents as brand new. The car is exactly as it was when collected from the dealership and has had very occasional use. The interior is outstanding with a very period feel, the underside and engine bay pristine. With just 60 ever built these special editions Caterham's are a real collectors piece and are also a fabulous fun weekend toy with a true classic, retro feel.
