Description

HERE is a simply stunning Viva HB 4-door with just 38k miles on the clock! She is an ultra-rare 4-door as the bulk of HBs came off the production line as 2-doors. Vauxhall decided to add a further two doors quite late on. This is a truly magnificent example of the much sought after - as well as exceedingly rare - "coke bottle" shaped Viva and you would be hard pushed to find one any prettier than Ray. Yes, the registration is the original and therefore transferable. Not that I would ever want to separate the two!

This voluptuous Viva drives and handles like a new car. I know she is not a new car. I am not that stupid. But what I mean is that she feels as though you are behind the wheel of a new, or newish, car back in 1969. She is a pure delight with that sporty little gear shift and prompt acceleration.

Condition-wise, would class her as A1 and hopefully my photos back that up. The contrasting darker green interior is in amazing condition, as is the green dash. And this really sets off the entire look of the car as I seem to recall these so many of these Vivas having black interiors.

She has an Mot until April 2020 (no advisories) even though she no longer requires one by law.

There is a long standing opinion amongst many out there that the HB Viva was, and still is, a superior car and superior drive to the much vaunted Ford Escort Mark 1. Well, at least that is to say so long as we are comparing like with like in this instance and therefore we mean the Escort 1100. Personally, I can see the case for that argument as it is easy to forget just what a great little drive these HBs actually are!

If you know your Vauxhall Vivas, then you will know what a super car to expect should you be lucky enough to become Ray's new owner!

She is not a new car, nor is she a three-year-old used car. She is a piece of antique motoring history and, as such will have quirks and maybe even the odd fault. Anyway, she is what she is. These old gems - in this case 50-years-old are sold as seen. Should you buy without viewing, then she is sold on the basis of the advertisement you have read the photos, or extra photos, you have seen as well with the assistance of any answers to questions you have received from me. Treat these classics with the respect they deserve and make sure they have love, time and effort lavished on them. Even the very best need permanent on going care. Practically all will have undergone a degree of restoration work or improvement at some stage. If it's a three-year-old car dating from the 1960s that you are after, then you are out of luck. Short of acquiring a Tardis that is.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I am here to answer any questions you may have and, remember, that I also provide a delivery service. Martin the details below)
