Descrizione
A real head turner and an unusual car to see in the UK, this Wartburg was a Hungarian import. These cars were the updated version of the 353, with a 1. 3L, four stroke, four cyclinder engine also used in the 2nd Gen VW Polo, as opposed to its predecessor which ran a 1L 2 stroke, 3 cyclinder.
This is a nice, clean example of a 1. 3S with low mileage (24, 500 km / 15, 000 miles). Interior is very clean and it starts first time. Bought with the intention of doing more with but moving house so needs to go.
Under my care the car has had new:
- Battery
- Fuel pump
- Fuel filter
- Period Blaupunkt tape deck/ radio and speakers
- Hub caps
- Mud flaps
- Extendable pillar chrome aerial
- Rear seat belts to conform with UK MOT
Had an issue when running, pressing the accelerator would cause the engine to cut out. This was down to gunk in the fuel lines. Tank has been drained, fuel pipes cleaned, new pump and filter, and it nows starts first time and runs well with good pull.
Car has just been MOT'd and is good until next July.
Bad points:
- Bit of rust spotting (see photos)
- Oil light on the dash stays on (can't figure out why, checked oil, gauge etc could be an electrical fault or dodgy connection)
Also comes with:
- Original spare tyres, jack, wheel brace, hazard triangle, bulb kit, First Aid Kit, original manual, Hungarian documents and necessary docs for registration.
Viewings welcomed, looking for £2200 ono.
Cheers!
