A very desirable R129 SL - Final facelift 500, very high specification, low mileage, complete history from new and in immaculate condition.
Finished in Brilliant Silver with black leather interior, this SL500 was equipped with memory/ heated/ orthopaedic seats, adaptive damping, power-fold/ memory mirrors and xenon headlights amongst other desirable options listed in full below.
This SL was supplied new in 1999 by European Car imports, direct from Mercedes in Germany, to a gentleman in Guernsey. He kept the car for ten years, bringing it with him as he moved to London, then Surrey. The SL has since been in the hands of enthusiasts who have maintained the car regardless of cost.
The mileage today stands at just 64k miles. This is backed up a Full Service History, comprising of the stamped service book and a substantial folder of supporting main dealer invoices from today going back to when the car was new. In addition, there are most of the old MoT certificates and copies of previous registration certificates, plus the original bill of sale and all correspondence documents when the car was ordered new. It is a fantastic service history that really shows how well the car has been cared for.

As the pictures show this SL is in immaculate condition throughout – flawless paintwork, unmarked interior, a beautiful original hood and in superb order underneath too. It wears new (not refurbished), genuine Mercedes Evo 2 alloy wheels shod with new, matching Continental tyres all round and the interior benefits from a similarly expensive upgrade to the stereo system that incorporates satnav, iPhone/ iPod compatibility, DAB and a reversing camera.
The unmarked, Brilliant Silver standard hardtop comes with the car.
As you might expect, this SL is a wonderful car to drive with power, refinement and the tight feel of a superbly maintained, low mileage example.
The final facelift 500 is relatively rare, due to its cost when new, but very desirable thanks to its superb performance. With a high specification, low mileage, impeccable condition and provenance, this is a fantastic car to own.
