A beautiful and rare 320CE finished in Brilliant Silver with grey leather interior.
Mercedes introduced the updated, electrically fuel injected engines just prior to the facelift in 1993, resulting in these crossover cars with more modern engine but with the more classic looking pre-facelift body, like this 320CE. They are fairly rare but to many combine the best of both worlds.
Supplied by Normand of Mayfair to its first Central London based owner, this coupé has a number of desirable options including the five-speed automatic transmission, heated/ electric seats for both driver and passenger, rear window blind and air conditioning. The full option list is detailed below.
There have been four previous keepers and we supplied the car to its last keeper. All original books and manuals are present and the mileage today stands at 104k miles. We last serviced the car in 2018 at 99k miles and there is full Mercedes service history up until 2009. The all-important engine bay wiring harness was replaced in 2017.
Overall the car is in extremely good condition. The underside is superb and original with none of the usual corrosion. The body is very good and original. The interior is superb and shows that this car has been garaged throughout its life. There is no fading to the instruments, wood or leather and presents in beautiful condition.
On the road it drives beautifully. Powerful, smooth, responsive and refined, this CE is free from the squeaks, rattles and play that mar tired examples – it drives exactly as it should. Everything works correctly including the air conditioning.
Good, well-specified, six-cylinder 124 coupés are wonderful cars to drive and own but it is now hard to find viable examples. This example is good in all the important places and has evidently been well cared for. It’s not far off being an exceptional example or would be a very stylish daily driver as it is.
