Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor (R170 Facelift)
Engine & Transmission
This SLK is powered by the 2. 3L supercharged petrol engine from the ‘M111’ family of engines produced by Mercedes, it runs perfectly well with plenty of power when needed. For transmission this SLK uses the 5G-Tronic gearbox which is a 5 speed automatic, this works as expected with swift, smooth gear changes.
Exterior
The bodywork is finished in ‘Brilliant Silver’ (Colour code 744) and is in excellent condition throughout. If you know anything about the R170 SLK or have been to view any then you will know that they suffer tremendously from corrosion around the front & rear wheel arches. We are pleased to say that ours is a rust free example, all four arches are in good condition and without any paint bubbling. The popular facelift version includes colour coded side skirts and door handles and a stainless exhaust tip.
Interior
As with any Mercedes the interior is a nice place to be. The black leather sports seats are unmarked and the carpets are in great condition. Storage options include lockable glovebox, central armrest and door pockets. Sound is provided by a pioneer stereo and CD player with factory door card speakers.
Equipment
Electric folding hard top vario-roof, 16” alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, electric windows, electric door mirrors, front & side airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, remote central locking.
History
We have purchased this SLK from the Mercedes-Benz Liverpool dealership where it was part exchanged in for a newer model. It has covered only 72000 miles and there have been a total of 5 owners in the 17 years from new. 6 services have been carried out including a pre-sale oil service by ourselves. HPI clear and we will of course have a fresh 12 month MOT issued for the new owner.
Overall an excellent example of this modern classic and surely one of the best value for money 2 seat roadsters available.
