Arguably the best of the race replicas produced by any of the big manufactures. This RG500 is great useable classic. We are selling this iconic bike on behalf of one of our customers, from his private collection having been kept in a heated garage for the last 5 years.
We took the bike to two stroke specialist Barry Dawson of Blue Haze engineering who has undertaken work to start the bike, including fitting new disc valve covers, refreshing and balancing the carbs, bleeding and setting of the oil pump. A full recommission will be needed but we do not envisage too much additional work will be required to bring this machine into road worthy condition.
The bike is an imported model and benefits from stronger gearbox modifications than UK spec bikes. The bike has had some restoration work in the past, including a full respray, powder coated wheels, new tyres, chain and sprockets and stainless brake hoses. Jolly Moto exhausts replace the standard pipes and these have been set up on a rolling road by renowned two stroke guru Mick Abbey, dyno sheets detail 81BHP at the rear wheel are held on file. A Nitron rear shock replaces the original and also benefits from an adjustable ride height linkage. Last MOT’d in 2015 we hold a number of receipts for parts fitted over the years. A fantastic addition to any collection.
