This truly is a time warp 280 CE, low miles with an immaculate interior.
The Mercedes Benz 123, historically one of the marque's most successful and popular range of models. Available as a saloon, estate and coupe and with a selection of engines, more than 2. 7 million were produced over a 9 year period; though only 100, 000 were the more expensive coupe version.
With a reputation of being over-engineered, well built, durable and reliable, this example certainly proves the case for MB build quality.
Supplied new in June 1980 by Eyebury Motors Ltd in Peterborough. in a favourite colour combination of Astral silver metallic with dark blue part cloth interior.
Spec'd with the 4 speed automatic transmission, electric sliding sunroof, electric windows, rear head rests, luggage nets on the rear of the front seats and a SANYO radio cassette.
The interior of this CE is quite remarkable, absolutely showroom fresh with no signs of wear to the any of the switch gear, dashboard, steering wheel or the big comfy seats. The original radio is there. The only obvious change is that the electric window on the driver's side has been replaced with a manual winder at some point in its history.
Having covered just over 4, 000 miles in the last 14 years, this is a Mercedes which has obviously spent much of its time snuggled up in a cosy garage, coming out for an MOT every year. The M110 6 cylinder engine is renowned for its reliability, this one was last serviced in June 2019 by an independent specialist.
