The Bugatti Type 49 featured a straight-8 engine of 3. 3 L (3257 cc/ 198 in³) displacement. Bore and stroke were 72 mm by 100 mm and three valves per cylinder were used with a single overhead camshaft. It was the last of the early 8-cylinder Bugatti line which began with the Type 30, though its gearbox would later be reused on the Type 55.
This beautiful Bugatti is a rare Type 49 Gangloff Cabriolet and comes with an extensive history including multiple letter copies tracing the path of this car even before it left the Molsheim factory.
It began its life as a factory demonstration car in 1933 at the Concours d’Elégance de La Baule-les-Pins.
The first owner was Henri Paland who acquired the Bugatti in October 1933, we believe he was the founder of Europcars in 1951.
This convertible carries the elegance of the most beautiful achievements of the early 1930s. The Cotal box greatly enhances the driving, the original Bugatti gearbox, number 445, will be supplied with the vehicle. The mechanics are well adjusted and starts at the first request.
This beautiful Bugatti is ready to go to the French Riviera, it is a real invitation to grand tourism, as it was envisaged in the previous century.
