1967 Ford Mustang V8 Notchback
This ’67 Mustang has had no expense spared by its enthusiast owner. This example is a rare Mustang produced in Ford’s Valencia factory – you’ll see the ‘Hecho en Venezuela’ etching on the original glass among other nuances of the breed. The car was completely stripped down to bare metal and full repainted in gorgeous deep black five years, pairing perfectly with the deep red interior.
Upon discovering the previous engine block was not period correct, a correct ’67 remanufactured 289 block was sourced and fitted less than 1, 000 miles ago featuring new 4-barrel carburettor, performance intake manifold, headers and Flowmaster exhaust and mufflers alongside new polyurethane engine mounts. The gearbox is the original 4-speed Toploader manual gearbox, with the car also receiving further drivetrain upgrades including Total Control powered rack and steering system, Mike Maier MOD 1 suspension, new brakes and Magnum wheels with 235 BF Goodrich Radial TA tyres.
The car has also received a complete new wiring harness from American Wiring, Autosound retro-style modern radio, fresh upholstery and carpet and further upgrades for reliability including aluminium radiator with twin electric fans, new alternator, new racing starter motor and new fuel tank.
Today the car presents superbly, with a strong pull and delicious noise from that fresh engine and is ready an excellent on-the-button example of arguably the most timless Mustang variant.
