This is a 1999 (first generation, alloy bodied) Audi A8 2. 8 Automatic. It is the front wheel drive version.

I recently bought this car after delivering a Volvo 850 T-5R to the Cotswolds and deciding that this would be far nicer than using public transport to get back to Cheshire. It was too. It cruised quietly, felt very stable and averaged over 36mpg..
It has covered more miles (207, 000) than i'd normally stock but I'm really quite impressed with this car. It was originally registered to Audi UK for its first two years and has then had one professional owner until earlier this year. I am now the third registered keeper. It is HPI clear and there are 22 service stamps in the book from both main dealers and independent garages. There are recent service invoices for a transmission service, rear springs, CV boots, front discs and pads and front suspension components. Tyres are excellent with lots of tread and the current MOT runs until February 2021. There is also a full bookpack, toolkit, and the small plastic security key.
Specification includes air conditioning (ice cold), full leather trim, electrically adjustable front seats, electric steering column, CD changer and stereo cassette, cruise control, electric sunroof, alloy wheels, rear headrests, trip computer, ABS/ ASC, dual zone climate control. The engine is the later 193 bhp unit and the transmission is the well proven 5 speed tiptronic unit.
This A8 presents very well overall, although as it has spent much of its life in London there are various parking scuffs, scratches and scrapes; it helps that being Silver it is not as obvious and none of it is particularly major. However the interior is in stunning condition and would not look out of place in a 50, 000 mile Bentley. It also drives exactly as you'd want a luxury car to.
These first generation alloy A8's will at some point start to gain the recognition in the modern classic world that they clearly deserve. However in the meantime they currently offer excellent value for money and this is a good honest useable example for not much outlay.
