Purchased from Diplomatic & Tourist Sales, Piccadilly in October 1993, this Coupé was specified with Nautic Blue metallic paintwork, grey cloth interior and optional extras that included the desirable Sports Chassis (the same as Sportline suspension but without the badges), air conditioning, electric seats and electric rear blind. The full options list is detailed below.
The car was in Germany until April ’94 when it was registered in the UK and stayed with its first owner until 2000 (45k miles). It was then sold by Rybrook Mercedes of Oxford to its second owner who kept the car until we acquired it in 2017 and sold it to its last owner. We’re pleased to be able to offer it again.
This is a highly original example of a 124 coupé in exceptional condition. It comes with six keys (two remote, one standard, one valet and one wallet key), all books/ manuals and service history, mostly MB. It retains its Rybrook of Oxford dealer number plates, tax disc holder and rear window sticker. The tool kit has never been used and is still in its plastic bag.
The body is in superb, original condition. The interior is absolutely lovely with no wear and original overmats in place. We fitted a modern Blaupunkt stereo complete with Bluetooth and hands free for the last owner.
On the road it drives exactly how one of these superb cars should; quiet, refined and taut with plenty of performance and an unobtrusively smooth automatic gearbox.
We have carried out a catalogue of preventative maintenance work on the car. This has included a service, A/ C service, new upper and lower wiring looms and a rewired throttle body, a new cylinder head gasket and set of new Dunlop tyres.
In short, this superb and completely unmolested C124 is ready for its next owner to enjoy. With a beautiful colour combination, desirable options, fantastic condition and low mileage it will be a pleasure to own.
