Description
These wonderful grand touring cars are fast becoming one of the most collectable Mercedes models. Combining elegance, power and quality, there are few better long distance touring coupés.
Of course it’s the full-fat 560 version that everyone wants and in a good colour combination. This ’89 560SEC ticks all those boxes.
Sold new by Normand, Bristol in August of ’89, this SEC is finished in the desirable combination of Blue Black metallic with Mushroom interior and, being a 560, comes will most options as standard including A/ C, cruise control, electric seats and a Becker Mexico stereo.
These SECs were bought new to drive rather than garage so this example, having covered 92k miles, has a fairly low mileage.
It has been in long term ownership with the last but one owner keeping the car from 1995 until 2019.
Full service history from new with all original books and manuals and a folder of corresponding invoices. Main dealer history up until 82k miles with specialist thereafter.
Recent work has included new brake calipers all round, a new exhaust system and new tyres.
Superb bodywork and paintwork, perfect bumper chromes and a lovely original interior, this SEC is in very nice order throughout. All solid, unwelded and original underneath. What’s more, unlike the many tired examples out there, this car drives superbly. We have driven these cars in the full spectrum of conditions and are pleased to say this drives as it should. The big V8 performs effortlessly and gives this big car a real turn of speed when required and records perfect oil pressure and temperature figures while the gearbox shifts perfectly and the steering free from play.
A great opportunity to purchase one of these fast appreciating, beautiful cars in the right colours and with sensible mileage and a good history.
