SUMMARY
Finished in gleaming 199 Blue/ Black with immaculate Grey Leather interior, this sought after six cylinder W201 has covered just 112, 900 miles and has had a small fortune lavished it on by a series of enthusiast owners. It also comes with a very high specification, which includes working Air conditioning, which has also just been serviced, ASD (locking differential) rear headrests, front armrest, Illuminating vanity mirrors, OTG and 15-hole alloy wheels, just fitted with brand new Uniroyal Rain Expert tyres. I've also just completed a major service on this car with all fluids (inc ATF & Filter) changed.
The car is comes with a very large file of invoices, that documents just about every penny spent on it, including a headgasket replacement and head rebuild at 94, 000 miles in 2013, as well an the airconditioning being overhauled at quite some considerable expense the following year. I've just spent almost £1500 and a good few hours preparing this car, and basically future proofing it for the new next owner.
These cars are now very sought after; after the 190E Evo and 190E 16v (Cosworth) , the 190E 2. 6 is now the W201 to have, and was once actually voted as one of the best top ten cars of all time, by a panel of motoring journalists, which is quite some endorsement. I personally think the driving experience of the M103 "straight six" is much more pleasant and relaxing, than it is in the 16v models, and as I've always said, makes the W201 the car it always should have been. The power, or rather torque from the M103 straight six, is delivered smoothly, almost from the word go, making it much more useable, and although on paper the 16 valve cars produce more BHP, their performance, by the very nature of their multivalve engines, means all the power is up at the top of the rev range, so you always feel like you have to thrash them to unleash their full potential.
So in summary, a beautiful example, of a highly desirable variant of the W201, in a gorgeous colour combination. Recent stratospheric rises in the prices of the 190E 2. 3-16/ 2. 5-16 “Cosworth” models have had a direct knock on down the W201 model range, and with the 190E 2. 6 being next down the pecking order, it’s very likely values will continue to rise, further assisted by record low interest rates, a trend which is increasingly mirroring what happened during the financial crash of 2008.
Finally, the vehicle is currently carrying a moderately valueable registration mark, valued arounf £800. This is included in the sale, and will stay on the car.
MTSV CLASSIC MERCEDES
MTSV (an abbreviation for Mark Taylor Specialist Vehicles) was born out an incurable and lifelong obsession for anything with four wheels on it, especially those carrying the legendary Three Pointed Star. Established by me, Mark Taylor in November 2005 when the Classic Car market was in its infancy and long before “everyman and his dog” had jumped on the Classic Car bandwagon. Specialising in Classic Mercedes from the late 1970’s, through to the 2000’s, I also frequently have the odd foray into other quality classics and sometimes even modern cars, however the qualification is always that it has to be interesting, and/ or just a little different; my theory, which has served me well so far, is that if I like it, someone else probably will!
My main specialisation is the legendary Mercedes W201 190 and Mercedes W124; I firmly believe these models were about as good as cars got in terms of sheer, teutonic quality, and believe them to be the best cars Mercedes have ever made. I’ve built up a substantial knowledge of both the W201 190 & W124 over many years, which I’m always happy to share, and have recently contributed to a W201 buying guide written by Julian Parish. I also have extensive experience of the most of the Mercedes models within my “band of interest” namely the W116, W123, W202 & W203 C-Class, W208 & W209 CLK, W210 & W211 E-Class, W126 & W140 S-Class, R170 & R171 SLK and the R129 SL-Class. Obviously as time goes on later models are coming onto my radar too.
MTSV has always, and will always focus on quality rather than quantity, and in doing so has earned, and continues to maintain an enviable reputation among its many customers both in the UK and abroad, many who are now three, four and even five times repeat customers, some of which have become good friends too. I’m also listed in the Mercedes Club Directory as a recommended business and I’ve also had several of my rarer cars featured in the motoring press too.

Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. COVID -19 Outbreak - November 2020 Update
In line with Government requirements, MTSV will be required to close to ALL visitors between 05/ 11/ 2020 and 02/ 12/ 2020, obviously this will be subject to any changes made by the government during that period.

If you are happy to buy any of my vehicles on the strength of photos, descriptions and videos etc, as many were in the last lockdown, I can either store the vehicle for you free of charge until the end of the lockdown restrictions, or alternatively arrange to have the vehicles delivered to you, in line with government regulations.
