The Mercedes-Benz W123 was a range of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from November 1975 to January 1986 and was the most successful Mercedes model selling over 2. 7 million units before the production ended in 1986.
It became an instant hit with the public and customers who placed their orders faced a lengthy waiting period of nine to twelve months and slightly used W123's commanded a 5, 000 Deutsche Mark premium over its original sale price.
Like its predecessors, the W123 gained a reputation for being over-engineered, well-built, durable and reliable and many taxi companies chose the car for this reason. They would easily cover 500, 000+ miles with only minor mechanical issues without frequent maintenance.
Supplied new by Mercedes Benz dealer B & K Thomas Ltd in Nottingham this lovely 230CE Coupe is according to the Mercedes data card a 'matching numbers' car and was first registered on 1st August 1984.
Finished in its original colour scheme of Astral Silver Metallic with the customary Blue Velour/ Cloth trim, Blue carpets, 2299cc Petrol Engine, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Blaupunkt Stereo with electric aerial, rare Electric Sun Roof, electric front windows and sitting on its original Steel wheels with new Michelin Energy Tyres and full face wheel trims.
The car was the subject of a restoration in 2012 when it had 2 new front wings and a repaint and it has excellent bodywork and overall very nice paintwork and the interior is pretty much immaculate. There is no rust or corrosion and the underside is lovely and the engine bay has been detailed and is also in excellent condition. It has a full service history from new and has only had 3 previous owners from new, with the last owner having bought the car in June 2012. It has now covered a genuine 107, 000 miles from new and comes with its original Handbook pack including drivers manual and stamped maintenance book, Mercedes Data Card + a number of old invoices for works carried out.
This is a superb example of the ‘Classic’ Mercedes W123 series as you can see from the photograph's and it really does need to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated.
The car is MOT'd until August 2021 and upon sale the car will come with a pre-sales service and our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
