Benelli started building motorcycles in 1921. The call for reliable and fast motorcycles quickly established itself. Up to the beginning of the war, mainly motorcycles with OHC engines were produced. The overhead camshaft was driven technically very complex with a gear cascade. Benelli motorcycles were also successful in international races, where the engine was later further developed with 2 overhead camshafts. In the mid-30s, Benelli had their new rear suspension patented and sold licenses a. a. also to DKW.
This rare Benelli 500 4 TN was built in 1936 and restored a few decades ago. The engine and was hardly driven after a complete overhaul. The magneto was recently overhauled, the clutch is new. The motorcycle is fully ready to drive and runs as it should.
