Description
THIS is my 1962 Austin Healey Sprite. It's a rare Mark 2, the Mark 1 being the Frogeye Sprite. This is a proper little 60s sports car with a well tuned 948cc engine and that correct vroom vroom feeling. They are great lookers these Mark 2s. Still with plenty of Frogeye design on show here with the same dashboard before we got into the better known Spridget dash, no side windows at all, just click on perspex screens, a detachable hood stored in the boot, the aluminium rim around the cabin area and so on.
Last on the road in 1997, she underwent a considerable degree of restoration before being dry stored. She was painted and fitted with new front wings and floor pans. The engine was fully reconditioned by Cylinder Head Services of Telford (she has a single carb). Brakes rebuilt, new correct spec seat covers, new clutch and new exhaust.
She is up and running now and has a great feel to her. There are some cosmetic "garage dings" although mainly to the boot lid. Perhaps about half a dozen but all tiny and about a third the size of a little finger nail. I can assist with delivery also and so please ask for a quote. Martin. the details below
