Description
MGB Roadster – with Sebring styling and interesting MG factory heritage
Low mileage
This car was originally a left-hand drive when manufactured at Abington in 1978 for their purposes (development vehicle we suspect) and when it left the factory in 1980 she was fully dressed as a RHD vehicle in the LE spec.
The car was once owned by Chris Peacock being the last works manager at the Abington Factory, but had been neglected living in a garden for 23 years!
The next owners set about restoring and modifying her to the current state. This is pictorially documented as well as copious amounts of documentation and has included:
New wings
Inner and outer sills
Floor
Scuttle
Door skins
Boot lid
New petrol tank
New hood
Stiffer springs and uprated shocks
Seat Covers
Carpets
Stainless Steel exhaust
Brakes overhauled
Respray to Tarten Red
Waxoiled
Engine renovation
Visually the rubber bumpers have been removed, the car has a modified grill, MGC bonnet (lightweight), MGC valance, Sebring rear valance.
In 2011/ 12 alone there was an expenditure of £5450!
