Description
FOR SALE 1950 LLOYD 650
A very rare and unique car built in Grimsby Britain.
A very interesting set up being a 650cc twin cylinder 2 stroke, but with a 4 stroke wet sump bottom end. It uses Lloyds patented charging cylinder to get fuel into the cylinders. Transversely mounted engine with front wheel drive, oil dampened independent suspension all round, 3 speed manual. Steel back bone chassis and aluminium bodied.
Completely restored from the Ground up and completed in 1990 by the previous owner. It starts, runs and drives very well. The engine has just been serviced, cylinder head skimmed, rebuilt dynamo and brand new 6V battery. Not the quickest car on the road though! Underneath the floors and chassis are solid and in excellent condition. The Interior has been trimmed to a very good standard in red leather with as new carpets and door trims. The Hood and tonneau Cover are also perfect, it has side screens for both doors. The body work is presentable but not perfect, it has micro blisters, scratches and dents mainly on both front wings. There is no rust or rot anywhere. The bumpers could do with re-chroming. With a little time and effort it could be easily made into a show piece. The previous owners made some good modifications to make the car more user friendly and reliable. He upgraded to hydraulic brakes replacing the cables brakes (Original parts included) and he upgraded cooling (switch operated electronic water pump and rad fan) as the cooling was originally taken care of by thermosyphon. Has had lots of time and money recently spent.
Comes with lots of spares, complete engine in parts, gearbox, brakes, suspension ect. Also comes with a manual which is very handy.
Can send videos of the car running and driving.
A truly rare and beautiful piece of British engineering.
