The Rolls Royce of Motorcycles; need we say more? This Brough Superior comes to us fully restored & in immaculate condition. It was originally supplied new via agents Godfreys of Croydon to the lucky first owner in 1938. The motorcycle was last supplied by noted Brough experts Verrals who gave it their seal of approval.
The motorcycle comes with assorted papers & also the original buff log book. A set of restoration bills also come with the motorcycle.
Starting is a relatively simple affair: Pull the fuel tap out to the "On" position. Flood the Amal Carb with the tickler. Push the rear frame mounted choke lever fully anticlockwise. Kick the engine over 3 or 4 times whilst holding down the left hand mounted decompression lever. Twist the left handlebar twist grip backwards to fully retarded. Hold the right hand twist grip about 1/ 3 open & kick hard on the kick start & voila, 1000cc Matchless V twin engine fires on the first kick settling down to a steady idle. After advancing the ignition & warming the engine a little after turning the choke off the machine is ready for use.
Gears are one up & three down located on the right hand side or the Norton sourced gear box. The ride is supple & smooth with gears easily selected via the quite long throw on the gear lever. The front brake is only moderately effective so it is useful to also have recourse to the rear brake. Riding it to the Ace Cafe for a pre lockdown breakfast, it was the centre of attention amongst all the more modern tackle that showed up.
This really is a jewel of a Motorcycle & would make a wonderful addition to any car collection.
