Offered For Sale is this Modern Classic JDM 2001 Suzuki Swift Mk2 2 Door Coupe / Hatch.
This has covered just 72, 000 miles from new and comes with MOT until 02. 02. 2022.
This is the very last year of the Generation 2 Suzuki Swift and was purchased new from Clock Garage Suzuki Derby in March 2001.
It comes with V5, Owners Manual, Suzuki sale brochure.
Bodywork itself presents very well with all but the OSF wing in the original factory silver bodywork. There are some marks and small dents to the bodywork as you would expect from a car of this age and mileage, but these do not detract from the overall appearance of the car. There is no rot on the car and only a couple of small elements of light surface rust upon the lower rear arches. All door bottoms are clean and original as is the boot floor and the sills. Engine bay and inner wings are all original and remain super clean. Underside of the car is in good original condition and without damage or welding repair. Inner arches are all original and clean. There are 4 small random fixing holes in the roof which have been treated and painted but are evident on inspection. These do not leak and the roof lining is original and without damage and or staining.
Running gear is in very good condition, the 993cc engine and 5 speed box are basic but benefit from Japanese reliability with low mileage, it also appears to have has a recent service although no paperwork for this is present. Clutch is spot on and the car selects all gears well. No undue noises or smoke on start up or whilst driving and under acceleration. Drives well on its original suspension without any undue noises and without leaks.
Original 13” factory steel wheels are without damage and have recently been refinished and present well in a dark metallic silver. Slightly wider tyres have been added with 165 - 13” to improve handling. The spare wheel has also been refinished and the larger tyre width added.
The interior of the car remains complete with all elements working as they should. Dash lights up on the ignition as it should and then on start up all lights clear again as they should. Being the GLS it is a nicely spec’d car and interior with electric front windows and central locking for both doors off the key. Seats are in good condition and a nice comfortable sports style seat, no degradation to the foam but there is some fabric damage higher on the drivers seat and some general marks in the fabric that should clean. Rear seats are comfortable and fold down giving an additional load space.
These Gen2 Suzuki Swift’s offer a great affordable entry into JDM car ownership, they benefit from cheap insurance and a lower tax brackets making it an ideal economical car also to commute in and keep your out goings low during these times. Would also make a great reliable first car which a lot of scope for simple modification. Parts are readily available from eBay, Suzuki forums and parts suppliers.
I’ve not had this long and was offered it to sell on, it’s listed at a below market value price for one of these in this condition. Not in a rush to sell as would like to see it lowered with wider tyres and some nice period Japanese detailing which I may treat it to if it remains with me after this listing. I’ll then run it for a bit and list it at a higher value as a mildly modified car.

There is no service history with this unfortunately as the owner prior to me purchased it from a bereavement sale and the previous 18 years of Dealer and Independent Service History where not available but it has clearly been looked after. I am running it daily and it has been inspected by a garage that I use, there is a lot of evidence of work to all service parts having been carried out.
The OSF wing was replaced by a previous owner after a low speed incident with a gate post. I removed this and refinished it in a light silver. It presents well and the colour isn’t a bad match. The car remains free from any insurance claim and or CAT classification.
Funds must be received in full and must be cleared prior to the vehicle being released and removed from Sale
I do have access to a trailer and delivery may be available for an additional charge agreed and paid for prior to the car being delivered.
