1961 VW Splitscreen Bus
LHD, Fully restored, Rebuilt 1641cc Engine
Previously supplied by us and now back on the market due to a change in circumstance. A fantastic early splitscreen bus, in superb condition throughout. Imported to the UK from Texas in 2010 and then comprehensively restored to a very high standard by The Lone Star VW Company. A professional paint job and a high quality Westfalia style interior means this bus now presents beautifully throughout. The 1641cc engine has been completely rebuilt and now starts on the button and pulls nicely with no issues. A Creative Engineering steering rack kit has been installed as well as independent rear suspension, all improving the handling and ride quality no end. Stopping power has also been improved with disc brakes up front and the ride height has been lowered by just the right amount giving the bus the perfect stance whilst retaining a comfortable ride. The interior is in as new condition, benefiting from a rock and roll bed, lots of storage, gas cooker, fold away table, all professionally fitted. The underside is completely solid, panels are straight and there is no sign of any corrosion. A full service and tune up has recently been carried out, at the same time a set of safari front windows have also been fitted. Overall a really nice example of an early, rust free, well appointed bus that turns heads and is ready for summer.
