1978 Classic Mini 1293 cc fast road spec in stunning Java Green. This mini has been subject to a complete rebuild by a previous owner. The body has been completely restored to a high level as has the engine, gearbox, subframes, suspension, brakes and interior costing £15000 and taking 4000 hours! The engine runs really well and pulls strongly through the rebuilt gearbox and lovely quick shift gear change. It is very free revving and the induction and exhaust sound is nice making it great fun on a twisty A road. It stops using Cooper S 7. 5 inch discs on the front and standard drums on the rear. It has braided brake hoses and adjustable Moulton Smootha-ride suspension and new shock absorbers. The wheels are period Minilite alloy wheels with sticky Yokohama A008 Tyres. Cooling is managed by a new four core radiator. All of the other mechanical parts were renewed E. G all 4 wheel bearings, complete RC 40 exhaust system, refurbish carburettor, new clutch and brake master cylinders, electronic distributer, alternator, coil, new leads, steering rack, water pump, heater matrix etc etc. Everything has been replaced with great care. The interior is immaculate with a Motolita steering wheel, speedwell gear knob, re-trimmed seats with a new head lining and a great sounding CD radio with high quality speakers. It has period Lucas spot lights and rear reversing light. I have a detailed Job list and all of the parts invoices for the work done. This work was completed around 6 years ago and it has covered just 9000 miles in this time. It is now well run-in and proven and ready for its next owner to enjoy. It has covered a total of 52000 miles rom new. This is a stunning example with lovely paint work and great engineering. Building a car to with standard today would cost well in excess of £20, 000.
