One of only approximately 100 manual Cayman R examples made for the UK market.
First registered in May 2011, it is a 2012 model year.
Supplied by OPC Swindon, this Cayman has some great options:
* ‘R’ aerokit with fixed rear wing plus silver accents for the wing mirrors, side air intake vents and ‘PORSCHE’ door decals.
* 19? Boxster Spyder lightweight alloy wheels with an Anthracite finish.
* 6 speed manual with short shifter.
* Heated, leather Sports seats.
* SportDesign steering wheel finished in Alcantara.
* Centre console in exterior body colour with Alcantara trimmed storage cubby with ‘PORSCHE’ logo.
* Climate control.
* Rear ParkAssist.
* PCM with navigation, BOSE Surround Sound System and universal multimedia interface.
We previously supplied this Cayman R in 2018, although it never made it as far as the website. Aside from a service, our preparation included renewal of the coolant crossover, feed and return pipes (an issue often overlooked on 987 of this era) as well as new exhaust-to-manifold fixings.
The service book is stamped in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019; we will now carry out a full service to schedule here in the Williams Crawford workshop before leaving for a new home.
Porsche made the R with the principle of maximizing the power-to-weight ratio to boost performance. The result is 330 bhp in a car weighing some 55 kg less than the standard Cayman S. 0-60 mph come ups in just 5 seconds and the top speed is 175 mph. Handling is further improved with re-tuned Sports suspension, 20 mm lower than usual.
