1973 Volkswagen Thing For Sale
The Volkswagen Type 181 is a two wheel drive, four door convertible that was produced from 1968 to 1983. In the United States these vehicles model name was the thing. They were made in West Germany, Mexico, and Indonesia. The VW Thing shared its mechanicals with the Volkswagen Beetle. All four doors on these cars are removable and interchangeable. The windshield on these cars fold down flat. Sales of the Volkswagen Thing stopped in 1975 in the United States.
1973 Volkswagen Thing. This vehicle has just come out of long term family ownership. The car does run and drive. As far as we know the engine and gearbox are original to the vehicle. Has manual four wheel drum brakes. Has all four factory wheels and hubcaps. All four windows are there with the car. Looks like majority of the paint is original. Comes with the original owners manual.
The interior of the vehicle is in good shape. Has the original gauge cluster. The dash has not been cut up. Original steering wheel. Has a roll bar. The windshield does have a small chip. Solid car. Included with the sale is a jack and the bag. Comes with a clean title.
