1972 Triumph Spitfire in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically, with some nice upgrades for modern motoring. Having come from the previous owner who was an owners club member this Spitfire is in excellent shape ready for many years of Classic ownership. Whether to do shows or to drive on tours etc this Spitfire will do both with ease.
Several sensible upgrades include stainless exhaust system, Kenlowe thermostatic fan, electronic ignition, vented and cross drilled front discs, Waxoil type treatment throughout.
The Minilite type wheels have had a recent refurb and have been re painted and the rim diamond polished and are as new and shod with almost new full matching radials. This included the spare. The spare is housed in a fully carpeted boot space with jack and brace.
The paintwork is excellent. there are no rust issues anywhere. There are photos in the large history file of the car at bare shell stage, with new panels such as sills etc being applied. Since this time the car received a rust treatment which is still soft to the touch with your fingernail. This has preserved not only underneath but the underside of bonnet and inner wings etc.
The interior is immaculate again having had money spent during restoration and since. There is an aftermarket radio and speaker installed these can of course be removed easily should something else be required. There is the half tonneau to cover the roof once down to maintain the neat lines. All the brightwork is very good and there is addition of sports door mirrors.
The history file is extensive with many invoices a large part of which are around 2002-2004. Many past mots. Recent service invoice from classic specialists and photos showing bare shell strip down etc.
This lovely spitfire was built to use and take to shows and is ready to go for the new owner. It starts 1st time every time and zips around the roads with ease, on the faster roads the overdrive comes into play in 3rd and 4th and again makes it very useful in todays traffic. Will run on unleaded fuel as headwork has been done.
In summary a great little example of this 70s sportscar ready to enjoy.
