Hello and welcome to the sale of my rare Fiat Panda 4x4 Van.
I've owned this lovely Panda for almost two years now. When I first bought it, it had been sat in a garage in Bristol for 25 years! I pulled the car out of the garage and had it transported to me. Then, I recommissioned the Panda by changing all fluids, changed all service items, fitted a new clutch, replaced the propshaft gaiters, the solid underside protected with new underseal, rear axle removed and painted, brakes checked and replaced where needed, head gasket replacement and four new tyres fitted. The list goes on... if it was worn out or needed replacing it has been done! As a result of this work it drives and stops spot on and the 4x4 system works well. Having owned a few classic Pandas this is by far the quietest and smoothest one I've ever driven.
Current mileage is approximately 84, 500 and it is still in occasional use. It's also taxed and mot'd till March 2022, I have no doubt it will fly through its next MOT due to its fantastic underside condition and good mechanical fettle. Viewing recommended to see just how good this little car is.
Underneath this rare beast is incredible, this Panda has never been welded and definitely doesn't require any. It has never been messed about with or thrown about and for a Panda 4x4 this is quite rare now! It is also one of the reasons why I unfortunately hardly use it and don't take it off road or use it in the rain.
You may have noticed at the rear of this Panda it has these interesting Van doors. If you have been to Italy you'll see these conversions everywhere. I imported this Van back into the UK to complete that Van look. It is an optional extra in Italy but was not available in the UK. It is totally removable if you wish to fit an original tailgate. Original hinges and lock barrel are included in the sale.
Going into the rear it has plenty of space to put all your items you wish to transport. The interior panels in the rear don’t have holes in (standard models had holes for the rear seat belts). We believe this version was converted on special order although unfortunately we don't have any history or paper to prove this. Onto the seating/ driving area, this car has a lovely tweed trim and orginal style stereo. Everything in the interior works fine but could do with a deep clean. The handles on the side of the front seats to bring the seats forward like to fall off as the clip has fallen off the inside but as a Van you put everything in through the back anyway, no rear seats here!
The dash, clocks and lights all work as they should although it should be mentioned that the battery light does stay lit very dimly when the engine is operating. This doesn't effect the charging of the battery or use of the vehicle at all. Just unsure why it does it as the alternator and battery are in great condition!
Onto the exterior, there is a bit of a patina to it! There are a few rusts spots on the surface, the worst places being on the bonnet and scuttle. This is due to its storage as it spent 25 years in a garage with a steel corrugated roof that still condensates of course! The doors had been "repaired" before it was put into its place of rest in 1994 although the repair would require some work to get it right, please see pictures for reference. To get this Panda Van into incredible condition it will require the body work to be sorted. This is reflected in the price of this sale.
