Description
Welcome to the sale of my mk1 focus wrc replica.
i originally bought this car in 2016, it had been stored for a number of years after being built to take part in a colin mcrae memorial rally.
the car started off life as a 1. 8 zetec and in 2016 when we bought it it was mostly mechanically standard apart from exhaust and air filter. It had around 60k miles at that point. The graphics had faded but it still looked stunning. My wife fell in love with it and it became her daily driver. Over the next 2 years and 20k miles it was very reliable but was starting to look tired. She was taken off the road in 2018 with the intention of getting the graphics replaced. This never happened and it sat in storage for a year. In 2019 an impending house move forced us to sell the focus, it was advertised and sold.
fast forward to earlier this year and a beautiful wrc replica popped up for sale locally, it had had a private plate put on but i still recognised it instantly as our old car and i jumped at the chance to buy it back.
it is a totally different car now and it has had so much work and modifications in the 2 year. It was away from us.
new sticker kit.
full st interior including dash.
st 170 engine with remap (running st ecu).
3" scorpion exhaust.
uprated clutch.
the car now goes and sounds as good as it looks.
it starts first time, is very loud and pops and bangs on overrun.
i have never owned a car that everyone seems to love, from children to pensioners, it gets so much attention. If you are a bit shy this probably isn't the car for you.
it's not a pristine perfect show car, the paintwork is good but has marks here and there. Under the bonnet is dirty, it really needs to be viewed if you are serious about buying.
mot to august 2022.
gps speedo fitted as original not working.
airbag light on, code for front crash sensor.
so why am i selling? it's too modified for us now and doesn't feel like our old car. don't get me wrong the modifications have turned it into an absolute beast that is so much fun to drive but it's more suited to shows or the track than a daily driver.
any viewings more than welcome.
