The Nissan Figaro was designed by Shoji Takahashi, who won a design competition with the car and it was introduced at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show under the slogan "Back to the Future". It was built by a Nissan special projects group called Pike Factory, which also produced other niche automobiles and it was based on the Nissan Micra.
Only four colours were available and each colour symbolised a season of the year - Topaz Mist (Autumn), Emerald Green (Spring), Pale Aqua (Summer) and Lapis Grey (Winter) . When the car was launched, Topaz Mist was the least popular colour and there were only 2, 000 produced in this colour making them increasingly rare. The Figaro was really well equipped with leather seats, air conditioning, power steering, electric windows, a fold-back roof, a combined Stereo Radio/ CD and Cassette player and chrome sea-shell switches.
Only 8, 000 were originally available and they were only sold in Japan with an additional 12, 000 added to production numbers to meet demand. Prospective purchasers had to enter a lottery to be able to buy one of these iconic cars.
This absolutely stunning Nissan Figaro is finished in the rarest colour of them all - Topaz Mist with a lovely Light Beige Leather Interior and fold-back Soft top and only 2 Lady owners in the UK since it was imported in 2014. It was first registered in Japan on 3rd April 1991 and has only covered a genuine 98, 000 Kilometers (68, 000 Miles) from new and comes with its original fully stamped Japanese Service Book plus all UK invoices, MOT history and it is clear on all HPI registers.
We have had lots of Figaro's through our showrooms over the years and this example is certainly the best we have ever had and probably the best example currently for sale in the UK. The condition is simply exceptional throughout and almost like a new car and it really must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated.
Upon sale, the car will come with our own customer care package including our HPI/ provenance Check, 55-point pre-delivery inspection, pre-sales service, a new MOT and our own 6 months mechanical breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
