Description
This is the County Station Wagon or CSW model so top spec from new plus it has had a comprehensive rebuild starting with a new galvanized chassis, new bulkhead and new doors. It has many upgrades and everything is either reconditioned or new and it's had subtle styling modifications which are a throwback to the earlier Stage 1 V8 109 Land-Rover so you won't see another Defender like it.
This has the 300 TDI engine these don't have catalytic converters or DPF filter so none of the problems of the later Ford engine or TD5 variants. They are a very robust engine, simple and easy to maintain. The road handling is exceptional for a Land-Rover as a result of suspension and steering improvements and upgrades which put it in a different league to any factory Defender.
It will travel at 80 mph on the motorway while returning respectable mpg and has plenty of torque for gathering speed quickly for safe overtaking on A and B roads, the engine has been professionally tuned. Off road performance is fantastic aided by polyurethane bushes, upgraded shock absorbers, progressive springs, subtle suspension lift and larger diameter Mud Terrain tires. It’s had upgraded heavy duty half shafts so the standard Land-Rover weak point has been eliminated in the military spec Wolf axles.
Also it has a very desirable private five character registration number which is included in the sale R7 DFN and the vehicle has a set of yellow and white standard plates as well. There is a lot of information available so please get in touch if you have any questions.
